ABOUT

I enjoy creating art that can help bring a sense of calm during mindfulness moments. My intuitive, imaginative abstract and literal imagery, some metaphorical, is based on macro and micro patterns found in nature. I work with a wide range of subject matter including, the human form, animals, and botanicals. Simultaneously, my design art is directly informed by instrumental classical, jazz, and ambient music that I listen to as I create extemporaneously. I work primarily in graphite, color pencil, various inks, metallic and gold leaf pens, watercolor,  and acrylic.

I received my B.F.A. from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and exhibit and sell my work nationally and internationally. I have works on public display and give public talks about my design art progress. I am the recipient of numerous fine art awards from the Salmagundi Club in NYC, the Edward Hopper House Museum and Art Center in Nyack, NY, the National Art League in NYC, and the Blue Door Art Center in Westchester, NY. I also teach group and private lessons in realistic drawing and Zen design, oil  or oft pastel, watercolors, color pencils.
